Zayn Malik has sent One Direction fans into overdrive after he shared an ultra rare throwback to his time in the chart-topping band.
The shock reference came days after Liam Payne made some choice words about Zayn, who famously quit the band in 2016 saying he wanted to 'live a normal life.'
Speaking about his former bandmate last week, Liam said he still had 'many reasons to dislike' the Bradford-born star.
After Liam stunned 1D fans with the swipe, it was Zayn's turn to stir the pot as he took to Instagram with a super sweet video of him singing one of their old tunes.
Sharing a clip of him singing the band's You & I, the baby-faced father-of-one belts out the lyrics wearing a hair band.
His beautiful voice is a thing to behold and fans couldn't get enough of the trip down memory lane.
One posted: "Punch me in the face It's like a dream to see you singing 1D song."
While another said: "This slightly makes up for the Liam interview, my hope has been slightly restored."
Liam didn't hold back in his interview with YouTuber Logan Paul.
"There’s many reasons why I dislike Zayn and there’s many reasons why I’ll always, always be on his side," the star explained.
“You can always look at the man for where he is and say, ‘Oh yeah, whatever, that guy’s a d***'. But at the end of the day, once you’re understanding what he’s been through to get to that point and also whether or not he wanted to be there."
Zayn had a very bitter break-up with his baby mama Gigi Hadid after her mother Yolanda accused him of pushing her.
The singer denied striking the Dutch mother-of-three, but did admit 'harsh words' were exchanged.
Referring to the star's private life, Liam said: "Listen, I don’t agree with any of his actions. I can’t commend some of the things that he’s done. I can’t be on his side for that."
Cheryl's ex concluded the interview saying that he'd reached out to his former bandmate, but so far, answer came there none.
“What I can say is I understand and your only hope is that at some point in their life, the person at the other end of the phone wants to receive the help that you’re willing to give them," he mused.
One Direction shot to fame after meeting on the X Factor in 2010.
However after six years of Beatles-esque success, Zayn quit the band, saying he wanted to be a “normal 22-year-old who is able to relax and have some private time out of the spotlight."
His decision was said to have come as a huge shock to the group, with Liam stating it was the 'worst time' for the band.
However he said at the time he was "super sure us and Zayn will always remain the closest friends."
But later that year, the Whole New World star seemed to put paid to the suggestion, telling Fader magazine the band's music was “generic as f***”.
