Zayn Malik has been announced as the latest celebrity to read on CBeebies bedtime stories.
The Bradford-born singer is reciting Music Is In Everything by actor and singer Ziggy Marley, the son of reggae musician Bob Marley.
Illustrated by Ag Jatkowska, the picture book is an ode to power and song.
The former One Direction member shared that he chose the book because he sings and reads to his daughter at night before she goes to sleep.
The 31-year-old said: “I chose this book because I love Bob Marley, and because music and reading are both important to me as a parent.
“I sing to my daughter at night-time when she goes to sleep and I read to her at bedtime too. I feel like this will be something really cool to show her, so I’m up for reading a CBeebies Bedtime Story.”
Zayn and ex-girlfriend American model Gigi Hadid, 29, welcomed their daughter Khai in September 2020.
He's now following in the footsteps of his former bandmate Harry Styles by making an appearance on the popular evening children's program.
Fans were quick to note that it's 'nearly two years' to the day since the As It Was singer sported his spotted pajamas on CBeebies to read In Every House, In Every Street by Jess Hitchman.
One penned on X, formerly Twitter: “Bedtime stories with Zarry!!! Exactly 2 years apart. Zayn basically reading a bedtime story on 2 year anniversary of Harry doing the same. Lovely.”
“Zayn appearing on BBC's CBeebies Bedtime Stories? Zayn will be reading us a bedtime story? In his beautiful accent? Omg little kids are gonna love it. It's me,I'm little kids,” another commented.
A third excitedly added: “OMG, first Harry now Zayn. My 1d heart can't take this”.
Other musicians including Dolly Parton, Sir Elton John and Ed Sheeran have all taken part in the programme before.
Malik recently released his fourth album, Room Under The Stairs, which focuses on his personal journey, healing and growth.
To promote the new record, he made his debut UK solo performance at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Friday.
Malik left One Direction in 2015 after rising to fame alongside Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson on The X Factor in 2010.
