A Newcastle charity is getting ready to hold a major fashion sale with designer and high street items on offer from as little as £5.
Smart Works, based at Ellison Place in the city centre, helps to change the lives of hundreds of women in the North East with interview outfits and coaching. And now the organisation is looking to raise funds to help even more women by selling clothes, shoes and accessories from top brands at a special event on Thursday, May 26.
Labels on offer include Boden, Paul Smith, Zara and Crew Clothing, as well as LK Bennett, Next, and Whistles. A number of designer items will also be available on the night, with prices ranging tom £5 to £10.

The free event will be held at the charity's Newcastle base in MEA House, Ellison Place, on Thursday, May 26, from 4pm to 8.30pm, with last entry at 8pm. All items on sale will be brand new or lightly worn, with both cash and card payments accepted.
Helen Boyd, Smart Works Newcastle centre manager, said: "Our popular fashion sales give people a chance to support Smart Works Newcastle with a guilt-free fashion bargain, as all proceeds from the sale, go straight back into our service to support women into employment with interview clothing and coaching."
Founded in April 2018, Smart Works works with over 100 referral agencies to support women most needing practical support and confidence-building in their job search. Women can be referred to the organisation for a free interview outfit once they have secured an interview and one-to-one coaching session, to build confidence and practical skills.
The service can be accessed by anyone who identifies as female, is unemployed and is based in the North East.
Centre manager Helen continued: "We’re incredibly proud of the difference Smart Works Newcastle makes, giving women the confidence, self-belief, and practical tools, they need to succeed at interview and start a new chapter in their lives. 71% of the women we help get the job, and 95% report feeling more confident and prepared for the interview.
"This year, our ambition is to support 720 women, so all proceeds from our fashion sale will help us meet that target."
