Zara Tindall hugs winning jockey at Cheltenham as she enjoys races with daughter Mia

Zara Tindall was all smiles as she enjoyed a day at the races with her daughter Mia.

The Queen's granddaughter was at Cheltenham for the Festival Trials Day fixture on Saturday.

Dressed in a smart maroon coat, with black boots and matching handbag, Zara happily socialised with her friends in the racing industry.

With Mia, who wore a spotted dress at the sporting event, Zara chatted to Chanelle McCoy, the wife of former 20-times champion jockey Sir AP McCoy.

Princess Anne's daughter was also pictured hugging Sam Twiston-Davies, one of the winning jockeys on the card.

His horse, Torn And Frayed, was the joint favourite with the bookies for the Grade 3 Paddy Power Cheltenham Countdown Podcast Handicap Chase.

Twiston-Davies entertained ITV Racing viewers after crossing the line in front, talking in his interview about how he had disagreed with his father Nigel about running the horse.

The trainer, whose stable is not far from the track, has saddled a winner at every Cheltenham meeting so far in the 2021-22 season.

"It is very important we win here. Most of our owners are local and we enjoy it," he said.

Zara, who also has a three-year-old daughter, Lena Elizabeth, as well as ten-month-old son Lucas, was at the track for the December meeting.

On a sunny and unseasonably mild day, which featured a win for Gold Cup hope Chantry House, Zara sported sunglasses and a chic hat.

Around 25,000 people were in attendance at the meeting, the venue's final one before the Festival in March.

Zara learned she would become a director at Cheltenham in 2019.

She has owned racehorses and achieved success on the track herself, while as a rider she won a gold medal at the Eventing World Championships in Aachen in 2006 and silver at London 2012.

Her mother Princess Anne presented her with her medal for the team eventing triumph.
