Zara Tindall chokes back tears as she looks at tributes to the Queen at Balmoral

Zara Tindall choked back the tears as the Queen's family came out to see the tributes laid outside Balmoral today in emotional scenes.

When Queen Elizabeth died on Thursday, her children and other loved ones were by her side at the Scottish Highlands estate. Today, several of her children and grandchildren attended a prayer service at Crathie Kirk before viewing the sea of flowers at the gates of Balmoral. Among them was Zara and the Queen's other granddaughters Princess Beatrice, Princess Eugenie and Lady Louise Windsor. Zara seemed choked as she left the church and viewed the tributes and was later seen comforting her younger cousin Eugenie.

Meanwhile Lady Louise, 18, was seen clutching her mother Sophie Wessex's hand as they made their way from the church back to the castle.

Also looking at the tributes and greeting the crowds were Prince Andrew, Prince Edward, Peter Phillips, Princess Anne and her husband Sir Timothy Laurence.

The crowd of well-wishers at Balmoral broke out into a round of applause as the royal family waved to them as they headed back into the castle grounds.

King Charles III, Queen Camilla, Prince William and Prince Harry are all back in London now but other royals have remained at Balmoral.

This comes after Prince Charles made a public address to the nation on Friday night.

The biggest tribute was obviously for his "darling mama" and his late father Prince Philip.

Charles ended his speech by saying: "As you begin your last great journey to join my dear late Papa, I want simply to say this: thank you.

"Thank you for your love and devotion to our family and to the family of nations you have served so diligently all these years. May 'flights of Angels sing thee to thy rest'."

There will be a bank holiday on Monday 19 September, the day of the Queen's funeral, with a two-minute silence held across the nation.

Processions will take place in London and Windsor, while a committal service will be held at St George's Chapel at Windsor Castle.

It's been a momentous day for King Charles, who has been formally proclaimed monarch at the Accession Council and will now host a number of audiences at Buckingham Palace.

More than 200 privy councillors, made up of mostly senior politicians past and present including former prime ministers, were present to hear the Clerk of the Council read the proclamation.

He made a personal declaration on the death of the Queen saying: "I know how deeply you and the entire nation, and I think I may say the whole world, sympathise with me in this irreparable loss we have all suffered.

"Her reign was unequalled in its duration, its dedication and its devotion. Even as we grieve, we give thanks for this most faithful life."

The new King has a busy few days ahead, as he is now preparing to embark on a tour of the country in the days before the funeral to meet his new subjects as millions around Britain unite in their sorrow.
