On Monday a report from The Athletic said Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was “reluctant” to start for the team after being benched in his last two outings.
Coach Robert Saleh and Aaron Rodgers have disputed the report, and on Tuesday, Jets receiver Garrett Wilson subtly seemed to share his disagreement with the story as well.
“I’ve talked to Zach a few times in the last couple of days, one thing about Zach is he’s always ready,” Wilson said when speaking on NFL Network’s The Insiders. “He’s always ready to go, and he’s excited for any opportunity he gets. With Zach, I have his back 100%. I think everybody on the team feels the same way.”

Wilson was benched in each of his past two starts in favor of backup Tim Boyle. Boyle briefly took over the starting role, but after two difficult games of his own, he was waived by the Jets, meaning that there will be a change under center for the team come Sunday.
Aside from Wilson, the Jets have two other options to start this week. Trevor Siemian stepped in for Boyle in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s 13–8 loss to the Falcons. The team also signed Brett Rypien on Tuesday off of the Seahawks' practice squad.
Saleh hasn’t announced who the starter will be for Sunday’s game vs. the Texans.
