Zach Lavine Ahead Of Schedule In Recovery From Foot Surgery

LaVine recovering well from foot surgery, expects to be fully healthy for next season.

Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine provided an update on his recovery from season-ending surgery on his right foot, stating that he is ahead of schedule and expects to be fully healthy for the start of the next season. LaVine underwent surgery in February to address a floating bone in his foot that had been causing him persistent pain.

The decision to undergo surgery was made by LaVine and his agency, Klutch Sports Group, after consulting with medical professionals. The 2023-24 season came to an early end for LaVine after playing in only 25 games due to a series of injuries to his right foot.

LaVine initially sustained an injury on November 28, which led to him missing 17 games before returning in January. However, a subsequent ankle sprain further complicated his recovery process. Despite these setbacks, LaVine managed to average 19.5 points per game on 45.2% shooting.

Trade rumors surrounding LaVine were prevalent during the season, but his injury ultimately prevented any potential moves. LaVine, who signed a lucrative contract in July 2022, expressed his commitment to the team and his eagerness to contribute on his return.

On a positive note, teammate Lonzo Ball, who has been sidelined since January 2022 due to knee injuries, has shown progress in his recovery. Coach Billy Donovan provided an optimistic update on Ball's status, indicating that he has started running, cutting, and jumping. There is hope that Ball could return to action for the 2024-25 season.

The Bulls, currently 31-33 on the season, recently suffered a loss during their West Coast road trip. LaVine praised his teammates for their performance and expressed his support for the team's efforts.
