Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow will likely undergo surgery to repair torn ligaments in his wrist, ending his 2023 season.
While announcing the move, Bengals head coach Zac Taylor stressed that the surgery isn’t one that typically has long-term repercussions for passers. If nothing else, that might help clear up concerns for fans about the future beyond this season.
Burrow suffered the injury in the first half of Thursday’s game against the Ravens when falling to the ground while being hit and was unable to grip the football.
With Burrow out, the Bengals will turn to Jake Browning as the starting quarterback. As of now, no word on when a possible surgery for Burrow might occur.
