Yujiro Hanma is joining Tekken 8 as the final DLC character in Season 3, becoming the first guest character since Final Fantasy 16’s Clive Rosfield.

The announcement before the Combo Breaker top 8 revealed the Baki the Grappler character as the fourth and final fighter in the Tekken 8 Season 3 Pass. Yujiro is scheduled to arrive in early 2027, following the previously announced Season 3 characters Kunimitsu, Bob, and Roger Jr. Bandai Namco’s Season 3 Pass includes four additional playable characters, one additional stage, and the Aurora Outfit Pack.
Yujiro has been one of the most-requested guest characters since Tekken 7. Known as the “Ogre” in Baki, he is usually presented as the strongest creature alive, with impossible physical strength, basically a human disaster with complete disregard and even disdain for his opponents’ lives.
Tekken is no stranger to physical beasts, with characters like Jinpachi, Marduk, and Fahkumram being some of the towering menaces the series has seen.
Yujiro, however, is a subversion of the typical genius martial artist trope. He mastered every single powerful martial art in existence, but since then, he got disillusioned with them and calls them tools of the weak, mostly relying on his overwhelming brute strength to completely decimate his opponents.
Bandai Namco Entertainment can go in any direction with him as long as his moveset translates his overwhelming power well. He can have brutal hand-to-hand attacks, counters, power crush options, possibly some command grabs, and lots of forward pressure. It’s unlikely for him to be a rushdown character; he’ll likely be a technical mixup beast.
Season 3 already had a strong mix of characters overall. Kunimitsu is back with her ninja mixup-heavy rushdown, Bob will bring his acrobatic karate, and Roger Jr. is… Roger Jr.
Notably, the devs decided against adding a new original character two years in a row. This makes it likely that Season 4 will feature one instead, with no guests.
