YouTube star Deji splashed out on new houses after losing to Jake Paul

Deji has opened up on the properties he purchased after receiving a career-high payday for his white-collar defeat by Jake Paul.

The YouTube star has fought several times in the boxing ring alongside his content-creation career, facing the likes of Paul and Alex Wassabi. His stint in the squared circle began with a points defeat by Paul back in 2018, which served as the chief support fight for the duel between his brother KSI - real name JJ Olatunji - and Paul's brother Logan.

It is predicted that Paul earned a lucrative £2.2million payday from the fight, which was one of his biggest prior to his recent main-event bouts in the professional ranks. And Deji has revealed that it was his career-high pay cheque during a YouTube video with Viddal Riley.

"It was my Jake fight, yeah," he responded when asked by Riley which of his boxing outings were the most lucrative of his career so far. "I bought properties," he later added after being questioned what he put his earnings towards.

Deji put in a good display against Paul in their boxing clash but was unable to get the judges' nod, with his American rival moving on to the professional ranks against the likes of UFC stars Tyron Woodley and Ben Askren. Meanwhile, Deji fought twice as a professional, suffering consecutive defeats against Vinnie Hacker and Wassabi.

There were many calls for him to hang up his gloves and end his short pursuit of a career in the sport, but he refused to give in and entered a more strict training camp to face Fousey. This paid off, with the star picking up a huge KO win over his rival on the undercard of brother Olatunji's two fights on one night card.

Incredibly, Deji will next face boxing legend Floyd Mayweather in a boxing exhibition over eight rounds at the Coca Cola Arena in Dubai on November 13. After his recent victory, there were calls for a rematch between Deji and Paul in the future, despite his brother KSI being keen to settle his rivalry with the American.

Deji believes that he will need five wins, including his recent one over Fousey, to set up another shot at Paul. "That's the plan," he told Mirror Fighting about a possible rematch. "I need to build up a portfolio, but who knows, I might get another shot at redemption. I guess I'd need maybe five wins, potentially. We'll see, though, nobody knows.

"Even if you hate Jake Paul, you have to respect what he's doing, I don't hate him, but I hated him back then. As of now, not really because you grow up and everything, but I have just nothing but respect for what he's doing. To get in the ring is one of the hardest things to do."
