YouTube Premium just got a massive 50% discount for a limited time only — but there's a catch

Not long after rolling out a YouTube Premium price hike, Google is now offering users the chance to get 12 months' worth of YouTube Premium for half the price. The catch? This massive YouTube Premium deal is only available to certain Google One subscribers in certain regions.

This new YouTube Premium deal is available to subscribers paying for 2 TB of storage ($9.99/ month) or more, meaning anyone spending $10 or more on Google One can now get a full year of YouTube Premium for less.

In addition to needing an eligible Google One subscription, the offer's only available to users in the United States, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, or Japan.

If you meet all the criteria already (or you're tempted to sign up just to save on YouTube Premium), you'll need to act fast. In a community post, Google confirmed that this new offer will only be available between now and April 29, 2026. (h/t 9to5Google).

If you'd like YouTube Premium for less, head to your Google One account area (or sign up for one of the eligible Google One membership tiers, if you don't already have an account) and navigate to the Benefits section.

Then, find the YouTube Premium option and add a plan. Once you've subscribed, you'll see the account listed at a discounted rate.

Just as a reminder, this discount is not open to Google One subscribers on the Basic (100 GB for $1.99/month), Standard (200 GB for $2.99/month), or Google AI Plus ($7.99/month) plans.

You can also take advantage of the offer if you've signed up to the Google AI Pro plan ($19.99/month), which is essentially a high-end bundle that includes both the storage features of Google One plus Google’s most advanced AI tools.

It's also worth noting that existing YouTube Premium subscribers will need to cancel their existing YouTube Premium membership before trying to take advantage of the offer.

For more details about the promotion, including how to manage your account, head to the Google One Help area.
