In a statement on Tuesday, local neighbourhood policing Inspector Leigh Parfitt said: "A 'Public Spaces Protecting Order (PSPO) Intoxicating Substances Including Alcohol [Anti-social Behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014]' was put in place in the area following these reports.

"The PSPO enables an authorised officer to request a person who is causing anti-social behaviour whilst in possession of alcohol to stop drinking and seize the alcohol and issue a fixed penalty notice of £100 or up to £1,000 upon prosecution.

"Two boys, both aged 15, have been identified and action has been taken against them under the Anti-social Behaviour Act. CCTV is being reviewed and enquiries are ongoing to identify more people. Residents should expect to see officers conducting additional patrols and visits to the area over the coming weeks."
