Parents filling out a school health form this August are working from a country that no longer has one childhood vaccine schedule, and the reason is now sitting with a federal appeals court.
On March 16, 2026, U.S. District Judge Brian Murphy in Massachusetts issued a preliminary injunction that stayed the January 5, 2026 federal memorandum reducing the childhood immunization schedule, stayed the appointments of 13 members to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, and stayed all votes that the reconstituted committee had taken. The Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine said the ruling "restores the recommendations in place prior to January 5, 2026," according to a statement issued by the plaintiff organizations.
