Why the fortnight is the only window that matters
The week of Diwali is the worst time to start a skincare routine. Your sleep is broken, the air is thick with smoke, you're eating differently, and whatever you apply to your face at 1 a.m. after a party is not being absorbed by skin in any condition to receive it. The fortnight before, roughly the two weeks when the calendar is filling up but hasn't yet exploded, is when skin can actually respond to what you do to it. Cellular turnover takes about 28 days in younger skin and longer as you age. Two weeks of consistent, targeted effort lands you at the event window with visibly different skin. One week of panic does not.
