Your Party names parliamentary leader after fierce battle between Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana

  • Your Party's inaugural leadership election concluded with Jeremy Corbyn's faction, 'The Many', securing control of the 24-strong central executive committee (CEC).
  • The contest was viewed as a proxy battle between co-founders Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana, who each put forward rival slates of candidates.
  • Corbyn's group, which also includes MPs Shockat Adam and Ayoub Khan, defeated Ms Sultana’s 'Grassroots Left' by 14 seats to seven.
  • Following the victory, Mr Corbyn is now set to become Your Party’s Parliamentary leader, a position Ms Sultana had also sought.
  • Mr Corbyn expressed delight at the outcome, stating members voted for a 'mass, socialist party' and emphasised the need to unite against figures like Starmer and Farage.
