graingertov: "How long is Rodrigo Bentancur out for?"
Alasdair says: "Reports in Uruguay suggest Bentancur will be out for around four weeks with a small tear in the adductor muscle of his right leg. As he's suspended for the match at Brentford that gives him a little longer to be ready and hopefully, if there are no setbacks, he could be in contention for the New Year's Day match against Aston Villa."
sdeering3: "Was just wondering whether you think Spurs have moved on from being a club who sells their best players. Kulusevski is surely attracting a lot of attention from the Man Citys etc and I wouldn't put it past them to bid for him in the future. Do Spurs see him as the future of this club?"
Alasdair says: "I don't really think Spurs are that kind of club any more. The last one I can remember is Kyle Walker going to Manchester City, although Mauricio Pochettino seemed back then to give the move his blessing. We saw with Harry Kane last season, if Spurs don't want to sell then they won't.
"Dejan Kulusevski, at just 22, is the kind of player you can build a squad around. He's got the potential to be world class. Conte loves him and he's a bargain at £30m to make the deal permanent."

AlexStylianou: "I know he wouldn't be seen as a Kulu alternative, but can you see us making a move for Zaha in this January window? Premier League proven, homegrown and can play across the front three, hes only got six months left on his current contract as well. I'd rather Michael Olise who seems a more natural Kulu alternative, but expect that would be extremely unlikely."
Alasdair says: "Zaha has been linked with Spurs in every transfer window but it's never been a deal that's seemingly ever come close to becoming reality. His contract situation will make him attractive for Tottenham with just six months remaining, but at 30-years-old he's edging away from being the usual profile of signing they'd go for, especially with the contract he would require.
"Ivan Perisic did break away from that mould which means you can never say never, but when it comes to Premier League free transfers foreign clubs often hold the advantage because they can speak to players from January. I agree that Olise fits Spurs' transfer profile but with four years left on his deal Palace will be able to hold out for the sort of money they always wanted for Zaha."
Tilewa: "Judging by the performances of Sofyan Amrabat at the World Cup, do you think the resurfacing links to him make sense, as we are absolutely stacked in that part of the team? Three defensive players that have no chances of leaving in Bentancur, Højbjerg, Bissouma, and one that has slim loan chances in Ollie Skipp. Would it make sense to loan Skipp out though, as Conte has very peculiar methods and tactics?"
Alasdair says: "It would seem a big overload of similar players who are more defensively-minded. Both Pape Matar Sarr and Harvey White really need a loan move and game time so there could be a fifth central midfield spot up for grabs for a new signing, particularly if Conte plays with a midfield three more often, but logic would suggest a player who can also contribute in the attacking third to bring something different to the current options and that's not been Amrabat's speciality.
"Loaning out Skipp could be good for the player in terms of game time, but shuts down another pathway for a young player in the Tottenham set-up, particularly one so highly rated within the club."
francodacosta: "Little has been said about the Juventus-Paratici situation. Does that put in danger any of the current loan deals we have with Bentancur or Kulusevski?"
Alasdair says: "At the moment, it's because it's all too early to know what's going to come of it all, if anything. I'd be surprised if anything could effect deals already agreed with contracts signed and players now at other clubs though."
floridaspurs: "What are you thoughts on Spurs' youth transfer policy over the years? Do you think bringing in "project" players like Bryan Gil and Pape Sarr is a valuable investment when they are unlikely to break into the team and Spurs are reluctant to send them on loan?"
Alasdair says: "I think it depends on the manager. It's tough to see any young players really playing for Conte this season as he wants players for the now and those who can help him take on the big boys. Even Pochettino did that less as his Spurs team became more successful and began fighting higher up the table.
"The problem is that you have to adjust your transfer strategy accordingly. You spend big money on ready made players and if you do sign younger players you send them out on loan to ensure they develop and return ready to play for you.
"Both Gil and Sarr were signed before Conte's arrival and perhaps that change in youth player thinking has happened with Destiny Udogie signed but loaned back to Udinese for high level football all season."
kaguyasama: "Other clubs used their young stars in friendly matches, and I wonder if Conte will actively use our youth like Harvey White and Jamie Donley in friendly matches against Motherwell and Nice?"
Alasdair says: "With the Motherwell game, much depends on the proximity of Spurs' FA Youth Cup match against QPR on Tuesday night. They won't want any of their big players for that getting injured ahead of that game. For instance, I know talented young striker Will Lankshear trained with the first team today (Thursday) but there might be a fear of injury for a 17-year-old who has scored seven goals in 11 games since arriving at Spurs from Sheffield United for a fee that could reach £2.5m.
"Harvey White should get some minutes as he's too old to play in that U18s game, but I'd like to see Lankshear and Donley get some minutes, particularly with the shortage of strikers currently back at Hotspur Way, while 17-year-old centre-back Alfie Dorrington is another young player they have high hopes for.
"We should see a number of the development squad used because plenty of young players have been training with the squad this week to make up the numbers, including Alfie Devine, Romaine Mundle, Maksim Paskotsi, Charlie Sayers, Brooklyn Lyons-Foster, Yago Santiago, Nile John and Max Robson."
hamtottenham: "Do you know why Djed Spence deleted all postings about Tottenham on his Instagram?"
Alasdair says: "As for Djed, I'm told it's something he's done a couple of times in the past, a purge of his Instagram account as it were. It wasn't just Spurs stuff that went, there was also all the Forest and Middlesbrough pics. Don't ask me why, but having spoken to those who know him, apparently it's something he's done a couple of times. A refresh of sorts."
AdamJamesHarris: "With Richarlison playing really well as a number nine up front in the World Cup, do you think Conte would be tempted to do this with Kane as a number 10 behind and Son and Deki out wide?"
Alasdair says: "I think it will be very tough to leave Richarlison out of the starting XI thanks to those performances in Qatar. I'd like to see him tried occasionally as a pairing with Kane, with Son and Kulusevski buzzing around them but whether that fits Conte's preferred formation is another thing. It might be something we see more during matches if things aren't going Spurs' way."
Mossi007: "With Bentancur's injury does this mean Oliver Skipp will start or will Conte go for Bissouma instead against Brentford?"
Alasdair says: "Bentancur is suspended anyway for the Brentford game but you would imagine Bissouma will come into the midfield. Conte has all of this period to prime him for the game and how he wants him to operate in a midfield two. Personally, I see Skipp as the Hojbjerg alternative and Bissouma the Bentancur one."
