In the final week of 2023, Young Sheldon continued its domination by claiming the top spot in Nielsen's streaming rankings for the second consecutive week. The popular show garnered an impressive 1.31 billion minutes of viewing time on both Netflix and Max during the week of December 25th to 31st. Bluey followed closely behind with 1.11 billion minutes, while The Crown also crossed the billion-minute mark with 1.04 billion minutes on Netflix.
Reacher, the Prime Video series, accumulated 943 million minutes of viewing for the week. However, it's important to note that these figures do not include the two most recent episodes due to an interruption in audio asset capture on Amazon Prime Video. Revised figures will be released in early February and are expected to push Reacher over the 1 billion minute threshold for the third consecutive week.
Disney+'s Percy Jackson and the Olympians also saw strong returns, reaching 700 million minutes of viewing for the week when its third episode debuted. This marks a 22 percent improvement from its premiere week. Notably, Percy Jackson has achieved Disney+'s biggest launch for a series outside of the Star Wars or Marvel universes.
Marvel's animated series What If ...? had its best showing yet, accumulating 513 million minutes of viewing. Disney+ released the second season over nine consecutive days starting from December 22nd. Two new entries made their debut on the original series chart as well, with the Mexican dramedy The Manny garnering 555 million minutes and the Money Heist spinoff Berlin accumulating 274 million minutes.
Zack Snyder's Rebel Moon: Part 1 retained its position at the top of the movie charts for the second week in a row, with 974 million minutes of viewing. This marks a slight increase from its first week, which had accumulated 966 million minutes.
It's important to note that Nielsen's streaming ratings only cover viewing on TV sets and do not include minutes watched on computers or mobile devices. Additionally, these ratings only reflect U.S. audiences and not international viewers.
