A mum has shared her inspiring message after she was announced as a winner of our Local Heroes competition.
Sadie Paulsen, 20, and her nan Josephine, who died in 2019, were "best friends". Sadie looked after Josephine when she was ill, taking care of her needs and bringing her what she needed. Sadie, who had her son Shane when she was 16, is now studying a nursing degree at Liverpool John Moores University.
Sadie has been announced as a winner of our Local Heroes competition with Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill and Hotel Indigo after she was nominated by mum Carla , who called her a "beautiful person." Carla applauded how despite the tragic loss of her nan and later her dad Gary after she came out of sixth-form, she kept her "pride and joy" and managed to get a place at university.

Sadie, from Prenton, told the ECHO: "Nan had heart failure. I was just making sure she had all the right things she needed. She was ill, she had heart failure.
"She knew my baby for about three months before she died. She was like my best friend.
"I had the baby when I was 16. I had him, had a year off, then went back to sixth form.
"It was hard losing dad. Very hard - but you've got to carry on don't you."
Sadie Paulson said: "I think it's having a baby isn't it. When you've got a baby you'd do anything for them.
"He arrived when I was 16. I didn't expect it at first.
"I think it's just about never giving up on your dreams, even if you're pregnant at a young age it's about still going on.
"I think a lot of people are afraid but there's honestly so much help available."
Sadie won a champagne Afternoon Tea for two people in the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse Bar & Grill on Chapel Street.
