Young mum's 'beautiful' last gesture after tragic update

The family of a young mum who had a "beautiful heart" shares her last gesture after a tragic update.

Melissa Kinsella collapsed after suffering a seizure while on holiday with partner Jay Smith, his family and their three children, Chloe, nine, Beau, four, and Romi, two. The 30-year-old, from Moreton, was due to fly home on Monday, May 15 but was instead rushed to hospital. Doctors told her family she had swelling on her brain and heart.

Melissa was unable to breathe for herself and was taken to intensive care in a coma. Thanks to generous donations after a GoFundMe was launched, Melissa as flown home via air ambulance from Turkey on Wednesday, May 24.

But on Friday, May 25 her devastated mum, Michelle Heathcote, posted an update to say Melissa had been declared clinically dead. In an update earlier this week her family said Melissa had been showing positive signs of some recovery.

As the tributes came pouring in, the family shared another update. Michelle wrote: "Can’t believe our beautiful girl is a donor and is going down to surgery to donate her organs she had made choices of everything she wanted to donate. We're finding it so hard to get our head around this but how beautiful was her heart to do this."

The GoFundMe was previously launched by Melissa's friend Rebecca Dath after Melissa was first admitted to hospital. Rebecca said Melissa had complained on social media the day before she collapsed that she thought she may be suffering from heatstroke.

She told the ECHO: "She was vomiting, felt unwell and that was the day before. When she got to the airport, she had a seizure and collapsed. That's been it since, she has been in intensive care on life support in Turkey."

Rebecca added: "Doctors don't know what has caused it, but she has swelling on the brain and swelling on her heart.

"Missy's mum and dad were holidaying in Turkey in another area with Missy's auntie and uncles and cousins. Jay rang her auntie because her heart stopped and her children were there."
