A mum-of-three who suffered weeks of a mystery, chronic pain - which on one occasion left her struggling to speak - died whilst on holiday in Blackpool. Lucy Broome was staying in holiday accommodation at the popular seaside town when she collapsed last year.
She was then taken for emergency treatment at Blackpool Victoria Hospital. An inquest on Wednesday (November 23) heard there were no critical care beds available, which meant Lucy was seen in the back of an ambulance by a nurse and doctor, for the first time since suffering acute pain in Blackpool.
Her extreme medical situation which meant a delay in treatment was not an option, saw her being taken to a Covid isolation unit which was already full at its maximum capacity of four beds. As reported by LancsLive, emergency treatment including incubation was soon given.
