Former Disney star Jordan Pruitt has made a series of resurfaced allegations about her treatment by Miley Cyrus during their teenage years, claiming the Hannah Montana star and a friend repeatedly left her nasty voicemails mocking her appearance and career.
The claims emerged in a recently surfaced Instagram comment after Pruitt responded to a social media post about Cyrus' behaviour towards other young Disney stars. Pruitt reportedly wrote that the treatment was not unusual, saying, 'This is how Miley treated everyone back in the day including me lol.'
Pruitt Claims Miley Cyrus Mocked Her Looks
When a follower asked Pruitt to elaborate, she alleged that Cyrus would call her and leave insulting messages with a friend named Mandy.
According to Pruitt's claim, the messages included comments that she needed 'a nose job', 'new teeth' and 'a choreographer'. She described Cyrus as 'relentless' in the alleged behaviour.
The allegation has since spread across social media, with screenshots of Pruitt's comment being shared on Reddit and other platforms. The claims remain allegations, and there is currently no indication that Cyrus has publicly responded to Pruitt's latest comments.
Both Were Part of Disney's Young Star Era
Pruitt and Cyrus were both part of the Disney-linked teen entertainment world during the 2000s.
Pruitt released her debut album No Ordinary Girl in 2007 and became known for songs including 'Outside Looking In'. She also toured alongside major young stars including the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato and the Cheetah Girls.
Cyrus, meanwhile, had become one of Disney's biggest stars through Hannah Montana. The pair operated within the same young-pop ecosystem at a time when Disney's roster of teenage performers was hugely influential.
Pruitt's career also included a connection to the Hannah Montana touring era. Cyrus performed as Hannah Montana during portions of the Cheetah Girls' tour, where she appeared alongside acts including Pruitt.
Pruitt Says 'This Is How Miley Treated Everyone'
Pruitt's comments have attracted renewed attention partly because she appeared to suggest that her experience was not an isolated incident.
Her initial response reportedly came beneath a video discussing Cyrus' past interactions with other young performers. Rather than simply criticising the behaviour shown in the clip, Pruitt claimed she had experienced similar treatment herself.
The allegation has consequently revived online discussions about what life was like for young performers working within the Disney machine during the 2000s.
However, social media reactions should not be treated as confirmation of Pruitt's account. Much of the renewed discussion rests on her comment, which has not been independently verified.
Pruitt's Previous Comments About Disney Years
This is not the first time Pruitt has discussed difficult experiences from her time as a young performer.
In 2019, she filed a lawsuit against Disney, Hollywood Records and former manager Keith Thomas, alleging that Thomas sexually abused her when she was 14. Pruitt also criticised the entertainment industry over the way young performers were protected.
Pruitt eventually retired from music in 2017 after also appearing on The Voice in 2012.
Her latest comments about Cyrus have brought renewed attention to her experiences as a teenage performer — and prompted fresh debate about the pressures, rivalries and personal conflicts that could exist behind the scenes of the Disney teen-star era.
For now, Pruitt's allegations remain unsubstantiated claims, and Cyrus has not publicly addressed them.
