Young man seriously assaulted in Glasgow as police hunt for suspect

A 24 year-old man has been rushed to hopsital after sustaining serious injuries during an assault in the Kirkton Avenue area.

Police are appealing for information after the altercation which took place near to the junction with Cairntoul Drive, in Glasgow at around 11.35am on May 16.

The unknown suspect is described as a white man, around 28 years-old, with a slim build and short dark hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black top and bottoms.

A spokesperson fort Police Scotland said: "Police in Glasgow are appealing for information following the serious assault of a 24-year-old man in the Kirkton Avenue area.

"The incident took place near to the junction with Cairntoul Drive, around 11.35am on Tuesday, 16 May, 2023.

"The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

"The suspect is described as a white man, around 28-years-old, with a slim build and short dark hair. He was wearing a black top and bottoms.

"Detective Constable Kris Elliott, from Drumchapel CID, said: “We are appealing for anyone who was in the nearby area around the time of the incident on Tuesday and believes they saw anything suspicious to please come forward.

“Any information could prove useful to our enquiries, so please contact police on 101, quoting incident 0815 of 16 May. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, if you wish to remain anonymous.”
