Most of the fans in San Francisco for tonight’s Warriors-Lakers game would probably love to see LeBron James on the floor, playing in the game. The L.A. forward is nursing a foot injury that has hampered him in recent weeks.
One fan, however, got the thrill of a lifetime when James made his way to his seat to watch his teammates try to pull off the upset.
A young fan wearing a Warriors scarf could not hide her amazement when a street clothes-wearing LeBron sat in the seat right next to her. It took her a second to realize who her new courtside neighbor was, but when she did, she gasped, covering her mouth and turning to the fan next to her, who was appeared to be busy taking pictures of James.
That is the way the vast majority of basketball fans would react to having The King sit next to them during a game, regardless of team affiliation.
Meanwhile, James has to hope that he won’t be in spectator mode too often going forward. While the foot injury seems to be a real issue for the NBA’s new all-time leading scorer, coach Darvin Ham downplayed the idea of shutting James down through the upcoming All-Star break.
“No, I don’t think he’d allow us to do that,” Ham said Saturday.
At 25–31, the Lakers are currently in 13th place in the Western Conference, and are 2.5 games out of a spot in the play-in round.
