An East Lothian pedestrian has died following a collision with a taxi on the A1 near Macmerry on Sunday morning.
Mercy crews raced to the East Lothian village just after midnight this morning after reports of a collision between a taxi and a pedestrian.
At the scene they found a 28-year-old pedestrian who was pronounced dead at the scene. His family has since been informed, although the individual’s identity has not yet been released.

The driver of the vehicle wasn’t injured and now the police are appealing to anyone who was witness to the incident to come forward as they try to establish the circumstances of what happened.
Cops are asking anyone with information to contact the police on 101 and quote incident number 0026 of June 5.
Sergeant Barry Sommerville said: “Our thoughts are very much with the man who died.
“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I am appealing for anyone who may have seen anything that could assist us to get in touch.
“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time and who has a dashcam to check their footage.”
