Get ready for some serious nostalgia, because not only has MAOAM brought out a twist on the iconic childhood sweet - but for the occasion they have finally revealed how to pronounce the name.
MAOAM Stripes Jelly & Ice Cream are a delicious kid party food favourite - but while most people can agree they are delicious, one thing people can't agree on is how to pronounce it.
Some recent Tweets confirm this suspicion, with one user asking: "How the f**k are you supposed to pronounce MAOAM?"
A second shared: "How do you even pronounce MAOAM? [Because I say] Moam but it's spelt Maoam. Do you see my dilemma?"
Another user glumly said: "I don't think I'll ever know how to pronounce 'MAOAM'."
Luckily, that's not the case, because MAOAM has finally revealed how to pronounce the brand name exclusively with The Mirror - and it turns out many of us have been saying it wrong this whole time.
Georgia Gardner, Assistant Brand Manager at MAOAM, revealed to The Mirror: "The pronunciation of MAOAM has left fans scratching their heads for years with many struggling to get their tongues around the name.
"From ChatGPT's answer of 'mow-um', to the rhyming of MAOAM with 'moan', we'd like to set the record straight.
"The pronunciation of MAOAM encompasses the full chewing experience of the treat with 'mow' rhyming with 'pow', a silent 'o', then 'am' to finish off – 'Mow-Am'.
"Not dissimilar to chewing a MAOAM, the name reflects the unlimited fun of indulging in one of your favourite treats and lets you break out of the mundane through the expressive movement of your lips."
MAOAM recently brought out a limited-edition addition to the range - MAOAM Stripes Jelly & Ice Cream chews – a fresh twist on the nostalgic classic.
