NEW DELHI: With an average of a lowly 12.5 in the last 10 innings, where there hasn't been a single 25-plus score, India Test opener KL Rahul has been in the line of fire and has received scathing criticism from all around.
After a series of low scores his place in the playing XI has been in question but former India opener Gautam Gambhir feels that Rahul should be backed as every player goes through a lean patch.
The 30-year-old has had scores of 8, 10, 12, 22, 23, 10, 2, 20, 17 and 1 in the last 10 Test innings but Gambhir, who is the mentor of IPL franchise LSG where Rahul is the captain, feels that it is unfair to single out the opener.
