You can watch Jurassic Park with a full orchestra at new arena shows

Fans of blockbuster movie Jurassic Park can see it in a spectacular new way - at new arena shows backed by the Halle Orchestra. Jurassic Park in Concert will head on a UK tour this Autumn.

The concerts are in celebration of the triple Oscar winning film's 30th anniversary. The Stephen Spielberg movie, released in 1993, is one of the biggest-grossing movies of all time featuring a story of dinosuars brought back to life on the big screen.

The acclaimed blockbuster will be presented on big screens in venues around the country including at Manchester's AO Arena. The film’s renowned award-winning John Williams score will be performed live by a full orchestra.

Giving audiences the chance to see the sci-fi classic like never before, the film will be shown in HD on big screens around the UK throughout October. Accompanied by Manchester's Hallé Orchestra, one of the UK’s top symphonic ensembles, they will perform John Williams’ iconic score live on stage.

Jurassic Park was one of the biggest hits of the 90s at cinemas (AEG)

Opening at the Manchester AO Arena on Wednesday 18 October, before continuing to the Birmingham Resorts World, Leeds First Direct Arena, Nottingham Motorpoint, and concluding at the Liverpool M&S Bank Arena on 29 October, the music and epic motion picture will be brought to life like never before – 65 million (and 30) years in the making.

Lucy Noble, Artistic Director at AEG Artistic Presents, said, “We’re thrilled to launch AEG Artistic Presents with the 30th Anniversary celebration that will be Jurassic Park In Concert.

"The massive arena spectacular showing of the film with the Hallé Orchestra performing the award-winning score will give family audiences the opportunity to experience this film like never before in a wholly immersive way. Presenting these incredible events around the country is what we continue to keep doing”.

David Butcher, Chief Executive of the Hallé Orchestra, said, “The Hallé is delighted to be a part of this tour celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Jurassic Park. It is a fantastic opportunity for the Hallé to bring the highest quality orchestral music to an audience who may not have heard an orchestra perform live before. Jurassic Park’s score is iconic and gives the musicians the opportunity to showcase their work to new audiences away from the usual Concert Hall settings”.

One of the iconic scenes in Jurassic Park (AEG)

Jurassic Park follows the story of a newly opened theme park set on a remote island, with exhibits featuring recently revived dinosaurs after a scientific breakthrough. When Dr’s Alan Grant (Sam Neill) and Ellie Sattler (Laura Dern) visit, they are left fighting for their lives when the park’s Jurassic inhabitants manage to escape and once again rule the earth.

Released to great critical acclaim in 1993, the original film was followed by a further two picture’s in the franchise: 1997’s The Lost World: Jurassic Park, and 2001’s Jurassic Park III. A testament to the immense success of the three films, the franchise was resurrected in 2015, 22 years after the release of Jurassic Park, in the form of the Jurassic World trilogy.
