You can walk up the UK's tallest rollercoaster in an adrenaline-inducing new tour

Thrill-seekers will no doubt already have taken on some of the UK theme parks ' most terrifying rollercoasters, but now Blackpool Pleasure Beach is offering an experience sure to be that extra bit adrenaline-inducing.

That's because instead of just riding a rollercoaster, the attraction is offering visitors the chance to WALK up the track of its iconic The Big One ride.

Oh, and did we mention that the track reaches heights of 235ft, making it the UK's tallest rollercoaster?

Brave souls will be invited to climb the 420 steps up to the top of The Big One, take in the views, and also head to two exciting new points of the ride where you can see the rollercoaster, the rest of Blackpool Pleasure Beach, and the stunning seafront.

For those who aren't so terrified that they can't focus, there will also be a guide from the ride operations team to talk through some of the behind-the-scenes maintenance, fascinating facts and stories from the ride, and even their own interesting tales about working at the resort.

The new Walk the Big One XL tour will initially launch for three dates, but the attraction has already said it will look to add more tours if there is enough demand. Currently there are tours planned for April 29, May 6, and June 17 2022.

The experience costs £150 per person and takes approximately 90 minutes to complete. You can find out more and book at blackpoolpleasurebeach.com.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach also already offers a similar experience with its Walk the Big One tour which features the walk to the top of the track but not the extra viewing points.

Speaking about Walk The Big One XL, Andy Hygate, Blackpool Pleasure Beach’s Director of Operations said: "The original Walk The Big One and Walk The Woodie events have been hugely successful so we wanted to develop a new experience to build on these and offer something completely new.

"Walk The Big One XL will take our guests to parts of the ride they will never have been to before, and experience unique views of the ride and surrounding areas. Having tried the walk myself, I can definitely say that it’s something that all fans of Blackpool Pleasure Beach will love to take part in."
