Channel 5 has issued an apology after airing the wrong episode of Springtime on the Farm on Tuesday, April 11.
Fans were looking forward to Springtime on the Farm season 6 as presenters Adam Henson, Helen Skelton, and Jules Hudson were due to head back to South Yorkshire's Cannon Hall Farm to celebrate hardworking farmers during the busiest part of the year. Excitingly, the series was due to kick off a bumper run after Channel 5 extended the series to a two-week run.
Unfortunately, a technical issue meant that the network aired an old episode in place of the planned start to series six, to the confusion of many viewers at home.
This mix-up prompted the network to issue the following statement after complaints flooded in. It read: "Apologies, we've had a technical issue with today's planned Springtime on the Farm. It will be back tomorrow at 8 pm as planned, all new."
On April 12, Channel 5 issued an explanation for what had gone on, whilst also confirming that the first episode of the new series was now available to watch on My5, with episode two to go ahead as planned that evening.

It did not take long for expectant viewers to recognise that something had gone wrong last night. It's safe to say that some fans were not best pleased at all with the technical hitch, and plenty of them headed over to social media to ask what was going on.
One disappointed person asked: "What’s happening. Last years springtime is being shown. We would like the new ones please. Don’t want to miss any new episodes. Thanks x"

A third added: "@channel5_tv Why are you playing last years #springtime on the farm and not the new series, have you made a mistake as this is not the new episode, not very happy was looking forward to the series", and there were more people with similar complaints!
