You can book stays in Scooby Doo's Mystery Machine hosted by real-life Shaggy

Cartoon detective fans can now spend a night in the Scooby Doo Mystery Machine, and in a real 'jinkies' moment, it'll all hosted by Matthew Lillard, 52, who played Shaggy in the 2002 movie.

The van, located in California, looks like it's straight out of the beloved TV series, and it's packed with nostalgic throwbacks to both the show and the early noughties.

Scooby fans can play whodunnit games, or don outfits from the Mystery Inc gang's wardrobe complete with Shaggy's puka shell necklace, and rails of costumes whether you want to channel Fred, Daphne, Velma or Shaggy. Oh, and of course there's a Scooby collar too!

Outside there's a picnic table, ready to sit and eat from a menu which includes Scooby Doo and Shaggy's favourite snacks. (Think hot dogs and aubergine burgers).

Then there are the lava lamps, puka shell necklaces, and a CD player complete with a Sugar Ray CD in a fun tribute to the band's cameo in the hit film.

Oh, and of course you can re-watch Scooby Doo during the stay complete with popcorn, sweets and fun Scooby Snacks.

Host Matthew will be making a virtual appearance when he greets guests, and may even share some of his favorite memories with the meddling kids.

He said: "I can't wait to welcome guests into the world of the Mystery Inc. gang as their Airbnb Host and give them a summer vacation they'll never forget… monsters not included!"

The zen glamping experience costs just $20 (£16) a night, but be warned - there's only three one-night stays up for grabs and it's a first come first serve basis.

So Scooby fans should set their alarms on 16 June and visit airbnb.com/mysterymachine to book.
