Yorkshire has been named as the UK's favourite staycation spot for 2023. UK breaks have become more popular since the pandemic and now the cost-of-living crisis, with three-quarters of people in a recent poll saying they will be staying closer to home rather than jetting off this year.
Known for its picturesque coastal towns and rolling dales, Yorkshire covers an area of huge variety which is becoming increasingly popular among tourists. In the poll, part of Sykes Holiday Cottages' latest Staycation Index report, Cornwall and the Scottish Highlands were in the top three locations Brits most want to visit this year with Cumbria and Northumberland rounding out the top five.
Lesser-visited locations such as Berkshire and the Isle of Wight also appear in the holiday letting agency's top ten ranking, alongside always popular hotspots such as Cumbria and Devon.
