Yolanda Hadid's rustic-modern 'his and hers' shower and bathtub is the best focal point I've ever seen – it uniquely combines function with visual interest

Yolanda Hadid.

The rustic modern style has been one of the biggest design trends of 2024. Appearing in beautiful homes from Victoria and David Beckham to Hilary Swank's, the calming, luxe look has dominated interiors. Yolanda Hadid's house proves that the style is not going anywhere in 2025.

Hadid took to Instagram to share images of her Texas ranch, and the bathroom idea is one of the most beautiful I've ever seen. Most striking, a ceiling-high glass panel encases her large marble shower. The square bathtub on a wooden platform extends the shape. Beyond the bath, the television personality has covered the walls of her bathroom in natural wood panels that beautifully contrast her gray stone flooring. Modern light fixtures and white background walls bring in a hint of the contemporary.

In the caption, the model explains how she creates emphasis in her interior design stating: 'In my designs I like to focus on the first focal point when entering a room, the creation of my imagination turned out beautifully. His & her shower in one with a matching bathtub in platinum quartzite from brazil- executed by Stone Tech Fabrications in NJ.'

A 'His & Hers' shower or a double-headed shower is a functional choice. It makes it easier to store all of your bathing products and makes it easier for partners who both have a busy morning routine to balance shower times. However, Hadid's space demonstrates that this can also be a design-led choice. Using beautiful materials like glass and marble to construct the shower and then centering it in the room draws the eye in. This makes the room visually interesting and attractive.

What works so well about Hadid's rustic bathroom is all of the contrasts: there is the contrast between the stone and the wood, the glass and the marble, and the shapes. Lining up the bath tub on a platform with the taller shower, as Hadid has done draws the eye across the room, allowing focus on different heights.

Drawing the eye to a certain space in a room is an easy way to elevate any design. As Yolanda Hadid demonstrates, a bathroom is the perfect place to employ this technique.
