Yobs smash windows on buses for fourth time as police warn someone could get hurt

Yet another bus has had its windows smashed for the fourth time in a West Lothian town plagued by vandalism

First Bus said another of its services was targeted in Blackridge at about 9pm on Saturday 26th March.

It comes just months after another bus service had to be withdrawn in the evenings due to similar issues.

West Lothian police officers said somebody could have been seriously injured and appealed for information to find those responsible.

In a Facebook post, officers said: "Thankfully no one was injured on this occasion, however incidents like this can cause serious injury to passengers and drivers as well as affecting bus services to communities in West Lothian."

In December last year the Service X25's route through Blackridge route was cut short after windows were smashed.

It was the third time Lothian Bus bosses has been forced to suspend the service at night due to other vandalism incidents in March and October.

Should anyone have information regarding this please contact Police on 101 quoting incident number 3937 26/03/2022. If you wish to remain anonymous please contact the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
