A man has admitted confronting police officers in East Kilbride while brandishing a knife.
Steven McCulloch, a prisoner, appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week - a day after his 40th birthday.
He pleaded guilty to a charge of threatening or abusive behaviour.
The court heard the incident happened at a house in Sommerville Terrace on June 28.
McCulloch shouted and swore at police officers, threatened violence and brandished a knife.
He also held the blade repeatedly at his own neck.
McCulloch also admitted trying to punch one police officer and spitting at him and a colleague.
The court heard the spittle went into one officer's eyes and mouth.
Sheriff Alasdair MacFadyen deferred sentence until next month for a criminal justice social work report.
