Anand Kumar, an international para badminton player from the State, has been inducted into Yi Mysuru as a member by the president of the chapter, Abhijna Rajiv.
The induction ceremony was held recently in the presence of chapter members at CII Mysuru office.
Speaking at the ceremony, Ms. Abhijna said she was “proud and honored to induct Mr. Anand as honorary member of Yi Mysuru”.
“Mr. Anand Kumar has been an international para badminton player for over 20 years. He was brought up in Bengaluru and his badminton journey started with an accident. Throughout his childhood, he has always been leaning towards sports, attending sports events in school which was always a part of his life,” a Yi release said here. He has won more than 110 medals till date in both national and International tournaments. He was also the former holder of Rank 1 for para badminton singles and doubles, the release added.
Young Indians (Yi) is a youth wing of CII which works towards ‘Nation Building, Thought Leadership and Youth Leadership’. Yi started in 2002, and today it is present in 44 cities with over 2,500 direct members across India, the release said.
