Emmerdale fans discovered this week they will soon be saying goodbye to a villager and another appears to be following suit.
Yesterday, we brought you news of Karene Peters quitting her role in the soap as Naomi Walters. Karene Peters joined Emmerdale in 2022 in a major storyline. She appeared as Vicar Charles Anderson’s long-lost daughter.
Now spoilers suggest the character Cathy Hope, played by Gabrielle Dowling, will leave the village. As reported by the Metro, this follows her diagnosis of PMDD and struggles she’s faced in recent months.

Cathy has had multiple run-ins with her dad Bob Hope over her concerning and erratic behaviour - caused as a result of her diagnosis. Their latest run-in sees things take a violent turn – as their row escalates, she hits him with her keys and leaves his face bloodied.
Her decision to leave understandably has a huge impact on Bob. Leaving him questioning his abilities as a parent.
But Cathy assures him he’s being the best dad possible by letting her go. As the pair sort out their differences, it looks like Bob and the rest of the village will pay a tearful goodbye to Cathy.
