Yankuba Minteh has already declared he is 'ready to take the next step' as Newcastle United complete their first summer signing. The Magpies have signed the highly-rated winger from Odense Boldklub, and he will now join Feyenoord on loan.
Minteh only joined the Danish side a year ago from Steve Biko in his native Gambia, but the 18-year-old has enjoyed a fine debut season. The winger has registered six goals and four assists in 17 senior appearances for the club, but has been left out of the squad for Saturday's clash with FC Midtjylland.
The acquisition helps to fulfill the remit outlined by sporting director Dan Ashworth earlier this year of adding to Newcastle's 'depth of talent'

Rumours of the Magpies' interest first emerged in April, at which point Minteh was quizzed on the prospective deal. The teenager denied any knowledge of talks at that stage, but admitted he would be keen to make the move to St James' Park.
Minteh previously told Viaplay via Bold: “I am ready to take the next step, and it will only be good for me. Of course, I want to go to Newcastle.
"It’s a big club in the Premier League and they’re doing something good. They are fighting for a place in the Champions League.”
