Death penalty still on the table as singer D4vd ordered to stand trial in teen murder case

A judge ruled Monday that D4vd will stand trial in the killing and dismemberment of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez, finding prosecutors presented enough evidence during a five-day preliminary hearing to establish probable cause.

Los Angeles Judge Charlaine Olmedo ruled that the case could move forward on charges of murder, continuous sexual abuse of a child under 14 and unlawful mutilation of human remains. Prosecutors alleged that Rivas Hernandez had threatened to expose her relationship with the singer, whose real name is David Burke, and damage his career.
