This season hasn’t gone according to plan for Aaron Judge or the Yankees. New York will miss the playoffs for the first time since 2016 while Judge, after hitting a record-setting 62 home runs last year, missed two months due to a toe injury.
Judge is finishing the season strong, though. After hitting three homers last Friday, he added another two in Wednesday’s win over the Blue Jays. Both of them where stunning delays of power. The first was an opposite-field no-doubter and the second was this towering shot that traveled 424 feet into the second deck at Rogers Centre.

The shot of Judge’s teammates in the dugout is fantastic. Rookie Austin Wells put his hands on his head in disbelief. Pitcher Michael King just grinned. But the best reaction was from catcher Ben Rortvedt.

Rortvedt was studying film on a tablet when he heard the crack of the bat, looked up and just grimaced as he watched the ball fly over the wall. He looked disgusted, almost like he was feeling sympathetic for that poor baseball.
Judge’s power often leaves fans in disbelief, so it’s nice to know his teammates feel the same way.
