An X-ray that appears to show Andy Murray’s penis has been turned into a giant billboard.
Tennis legend Murray is currently competing in the second round of Wimbledon against fifth seed Stefanos Tsitsipas
And to celebrate the Scot’s grit to comeback from a near career-ending injury, his sponsors Castore have used an old X-ray showing his lower torso in an advertising campaign launched.
It crucially shows the 36-year-old’s metal hip on one side with the caption: “Better Never Stops,” as a nod to his ascent despite the physical hindrance.
The X-ray, which depicts his pelvic bone, bottom vertebrae and upper leg, first came to light when Murray shared details of his hip resurfacing surgery on social media.
He shared a snap of himself in a hospital bed, having undergone the procedure back in January 2019 in the hope of saving his tennis career.
Yet even then, eagle-eyed fans noticed what may have been an accidental X-rated addition to the X-ray. They hilariously pointed out that it showed a strange, long shape between Murray’s legs resembling a penis.
But that has not stopped Castore - a brand founded in 2015 by brothers Thomas and Philip Beahon - from erecting the X-Ray on various billboards four years later.
Murray has had a miraculous return to elite tennis despite announcing he planned to retire in 2019 ahead of the Australian Open.
He is now ranked 40th in the world, narrowly missing out on the seeding for SW19. The two-time Centre Court champion demolished his fellow Brit Peniston 6-3 6-0 6-1 in his opening match on Tuesday.
Murray is once more capturing the hearts of British tennis fans on his home turf, even insisting he has a shot at beating long-time rival Novak Djokovic to seal his third Wimbledon title.
