The X Factor winner Ben Haenow has opened up about his life as a stay-at-home dad and hinted at potentially welcoming a second child as early as next year.
The 37-year-old won the singing talent show in 2014 when he pipped Fleur East to the crown to claim the £1 million record deal.
Ben gained success after winning the show, selling 214,000 copies of his debut single to claim the coveted UK Christmas number one slot in the same year for his cover version of OneRepublic's 'Something I Need'.
He released his debut album, called Ben Haenow, which reached number 10 in the charts, but sadly, his pop career began to stall.
Ben gained only one other top 40 hit while with Simon Cowell 's Syco Music (now Syco Entertainment) with his single 'Second Hand Heart', which featured inaugural American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson, peaking at number 21.
He married his long-term girlfriend Jessica Jones in 2017 and the couple announced in November 2020 they were expecting their first child.
Beau Haenow was born in May last year with Ben taking to Instagram to announce the arrival of his son.
He wrote: ""Beau Haenow. 7lbs 3oz. 22/5/21. 9:48am. Words can’t describe how much I love you! Proudest moment of my life EVER!
"My @j_amy_haenow IS INCREDIBLE and we are sooooooooooooooooo happy."
He has since spoken about his experiences of being a stay-at-home father and hopes his family could grow in the near future.
He told The Sun: "I do a lot of staying at home with the baby, so I'm like a stay-at-home dad which is lovely but a lot of work goes into looking after him."
The doting dad added: "We've got just the one for now, but we're maybe thinking about having another one next year but one is a handful enough for the time being."
Two years after winning the ITV primetime show, the former van driver was dropped by Simon's record label.
The singer-songwriter was undeterred, and persevere with a music career, ditching pop music for a more soulful sound.
Ben released his first album as an independent artist in 2018, and despite it not reaching the UK charts, he’s gained a loyal fanbase who follow him around the country while he’s on tour.
