Valor Christian High School was well represented Sunday when Wyndham Clark won his first major championship at the U.S. Open and earned praise from another famous alum. San Francisco 49ers Pro Bowl running back Christian McCaffrey took to Instagram after the tournament and gave his former classmate some love after the big win.
“That Boy!” McCaffrey wrote on his Instagram story.
The 27-year-old tailback reposted several things about Clark on his Instagram story after the victory. Not surprisingly, both athletes were extremely accomplished in their respective sports when the two attended the Colorado high school a decade ago. Clark won the Colorado state golf championship twice, while McCaffrey broke several state football records and ultimately was named Colorado’s Gatorade Player of the Year in 2012.
McCaffrey also congratulated Clark back in May for his first PGA Tour victory when he won the Wells Fargo Championship. At this rate, it won’t be the last time he’s showing some love to his old friend.
