A two-day vegan festival will be making its return to Newcastle during Veganuary with a celebration focused around a feast of meat-free food and beer.
The Flower Power event will be hosted at Wylam Brewery during the first month of the year, which the vegan movement dedicates to encouraging people to try a meat-free alternatives. And the hope is that everyone will make the most of the January 20-21 weekender which will also coincide with the time that many people are embracing lifestyle changes after the excesses of Christmas.
The micro-brewery, at the Palace of Arts in the city's Exhibition Park, says its popular 'food battle' - which has become a signature of its special events - will be back too so visitors can expect to see some top dishes and products go head-to-head in taste tests. It said Flower Power is 'not just for vegans, or vegetarians, but for everyone'.
