The Cleveland Browns were anything but pretty in their regular season opener against the Dallas Cowboys. After not playing together much in training camp or at all in the preseason, it is clear the starters have some rust to shake off. The team has a very tough start to the regular season and will need to bounce back quickly, but starting right guard and fan favorite Wyatt Teller is asking everyone to take a deep breath.
Wyatt Teller expressed his feelings in a postgame interview on Sunday evening. “Calm down. It sucks I hate losing but calm down, it’s okay,” said Teller. The injuries to both starting tackles Jedrick Wills and Jack Conklin did not offer any support for Teller or the rest of his offensive line. Even against a very strong Dallas pass rush, he did not find that to be any excuse for their performance.
The Browns are hoping to have both Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills back for next Sunday’s game against the Jaguars, though it is unclear who will start yet. While many fans have overreacted to the Browns’ opening performance, Teller is here to remind everyone that the confidence remains strong in the locker room.
Wyatt Teller had a message for #Browns nation. After the loss he was asked how confident he is that they will bounce back:
“Very confident, it’s game one. Calm down. It sucks I hate losing but calm down it’s okay.”
