WWE has always aimed to retain the best wrestling talents for our entertainment. And many times, fans worldwide hate to see their favourite WWE wrestlers go. It is, therefore, the primary aim of the company to re-sign their best talents as soon as their contract is over. As of 2024, some of the Superstars have faced their contract expiry and as fans await them to re-sign with the WWE company, some of the WWE wrestlers have received an offer from the company to renew their expired contracts. One such name is that of Shayna Baszler. The former WWE NXT Women’s Champion has been offered a new contract by WWE which she has accepted and re-signed with the company.
Here's what we know about Shayna's new contract
This came to light when Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select reported that the company has offered a multi-year deal to Shayna which she has signed on. Although the details of this new deal is yet unclear or for how long this deal binds Shayna to the company, but this definitely came as good news in 2024. Sources at WWE have often stated Shayna to be someone easy-going, fun to work with who can keep her egos aside. According to some reports, a higher-up staff has also described The Queen of Spades as someone having a pleasant disposition and holding a helping nature towards to the struggling newer talents.
Shayna Andrea Baszler was first signed into WWE way back in 2017. Initially trained in mixed martial arts by Josh Barnett, a former UFC fighter and even having been signed to UFC back in 2013 where she appeared on television in the series “The Ultimate Fighter”, she made a transition to WWE slowly since 2015. Her time in WWE has been nothing short of spectacular, having achieved the longest combined reign of NXT Women’s Champion title. Not just that, Shayna has also been a former three-time WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. Shayna is currently a member of the Pure Fusion Collective stable where it seems she would be able to continue performing now that she has re-signed with the company. Shayna also holds a third degree belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.
