WTF Is Going On With Real Housewives In Australia? Insiders Say A Reboot Is Finally In The Works

Real Housewives stars

If you thought the drama only kicked off once the cameras started rolling, think again. Insiders have revealed that Foxtel is gearing up to revive the Real Housewives franchise in Australia, and it’s already messy behind the scenes.

We’re talking cast feuds, production shake-ups and a full-blown scramble to keep the beloved series alive.

Sources have told PEDESTRIAN.TV that a major update on the future of the Housewives universe is expected in early May, and Foxtel and Binge are determined not to let the franchise slip away.

But pulling it off? That’s where things get complicated. Firstly, the people who used to make the show are no longer involved.

Since the show’s production company Matchbox Pictures shut down in February, Foxtel is now eyeing new production partners, with both Warner Bros. and BBC Studios Australia reportedly in the mix.

“It’s a full reset,” one insider told us. “They know changes need to be made.”

Real Housewives cast rumours

Then there’s the actual Housewives. According to sources, the Real Housewives of Sydney cast has become so fractured that filming together is essentially off the table.

“Half the women won’t film with the other half. It’s completely divided,” one insider claimed. It’s peak Housewives energy, but also a logistical nightmare.

As a result, producers are reportedly considering a major cast overhaul, with only half of the current lineup expected to return.

But while Sydney is imploding, all eyes are shifting back to The Real Housewives of Melbourne, aka the franchise’s golden child. And yes, the icons are being called.

Fan favourites Gina Liano and Lydia Schiavello are reportedly high on producers’ wish lists if a reboot moves forward.

“Melbourne had the magic combination,” the source said. “There’s a real push to bring that energy back.”

So what happens next?

Right now, it’s a lot of moving parts, but one thing is very clear: Foxtel is not giving up on Housewives without a fight.

And if the behind-the-scenes chaos is anything to go by, the next era of the franchise might deliver drama before a single champagne glass is thrown.

So buckle up, because whether it’s Sydney, Melbourne or something completely new, the Housewives are coming back. And they’re already arguing about it.
