WTCR “surprised” by Cyan Lynk & Co withdrawal amid tyre safety issue

WTCR Cyan Racing FIA Goodyear WSC Yann Ehrlacher Yvan Muller World Motor Sport Council

Earlier on Thursday, the Swedish squad suspended its WTCR campaign over Goodyear tyre safety concerns, meaning its five 03 TCRs driven by reigning double champion Yann Ehrlacher, his uncle Yvan Muller, Santi Urrutia, Thed Bjork and Ma Qing Hua would not compete at Anneau Du Rhin this weekend.

Tyre problems have been a repeat issue in the series this season, with the Nurburgring Nordschleife races cancelled over Goodyear tyre failures in May and Cyan Racing pulled out of the Vallelunga races on the formation laps due to further tyre issues.
