It is a wedding weekend for WTA tennis player and former World No. 7 Madison Keys. Keys, 29, has been dating her soon-to-be husband and tennis coach Bjorn Fratangelo for years. The pair got engaged in March 2023.

Their romance began on the tennis courts so tennis players are expected to be guests at the event. Jessica Pegula is going. A few weeks ago, she mentioned at the WTA Finals in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, that this was one of her plans for the brief (one-month) tennis offseason.
Madison Keys’ Tennis Career
Madison Keys has been a mainstay on the WTA Tour since 2009. She has eight titles and is the 2017 US Open finalist losing to friend and fellow American Sloane Stephens who could also attend the nuptials.
Tennis is a tight-knit community despite the fact it is an individual sport. Competitors are friends. American players past and present Shelby Rogers and Jennifer Brady, Keys’ doubles partner upon occasion, may also be there.
A Grand Slam title has eluded Keys, but beyond that, she has enjoyed a great career and tremendous longevity on the WTA Tour. Injuries have crept in recently, but she is a fan favorite wherever she plays.
Tennis has changed over the years. Being married and on the WTA Tour is much more common than it once was. Players stay on the WTA Tour longer, playing well into their 30s. And the most recent change is the number of players returning to competitive tennis after starting a family. Remarkably, these athletes figure out ways to juggle all the responsibilities of home life and professional sports while traveling for most of the year. In 2025, we should see the return of Belinda Bencic and Petra Kvitova who gave birth this year. Naomi Osaka will be back again in 2025, continuing her quest for more tennis glory after having a child in 2023 and returning to the tour this year.
