Competition remains on pause at the World Surf League event in Portugal, with poor conditions forcing organisers to utilise a secondary site when the action resumes.
Very strong southwesterly winds had made the lineup at Supertubos unsafe to navigate, prompting officials to call a third consecutive lay day on Saturday.
Lighter wins are forecast for Sunday, with the swell expected to drop.
The new conditions will offer a window of opportunity for the competition to relocate up the beach to the corner known as Molhe Leste.
"We decided to move the event to Molhe Leste this Sunday," WSL director Renato Hickel said.
"This will be the event's back-up site with the best contestable conditions for the swell size and wind's direction that day."
The men's opening round of the MEO Rip Curl Pro was completed earlier this week.
Jack Robinson was among the big names to earn direct entry to the third round with a strong first-up performance.
Fellow Australians Ryan Callinan and Liam O'Brien will be looking to make it through the elimination second round when competition resumes.
Other notable names in the second round include Gabriel Medina, Griffin Colapinto, Kanoa Igarashi, Ian Gentil and Matthew McGillivray.
The women's competition is yet to kick off.
