NEW DELHI: Wrexham striker Paul Mullin sustained a punctured lung after a collision with the opposition's goalkeeper, Nathan Bishop in a pre-season friendly match against Manchester United in San Diego, California, on Tuesday. The incident occurred when Bishop rushed out to stop a long ball, resulting in a collision with Mullin, who was Wrexham's leading scorer last season with an impressive tally of 46 goals in all competitions.
The severity of the injury was evident as Mullin stayed down on the pitch and was attended to by physios, who administered oxygen. A stretcher was also brought out for precautionary measures. However, the 28-year-old showed immense resilience and managed to walk off the pitch before being replaced.
